Alan Barnes BDS (university of Newcastle upon Tyne)

Alan in the principal dentist of the practice of which he has been a part of for almost 30 years. He is very ably assisted by his practice manager Lindy as has an excellent team of staff; he is complemented by his associates Louise and Michael. Every member of the practice is committed to maintaining a high standard of care and service.
Alan is committed to continuous professional education: this hones skills and keeps knowledge up to date. Most recently he has attended seminars on treatment of snoring. Also the treatment of worn teeth.
Alan is married to Susan and they have grown up family, they are proud owners of a number of Chihuahuas.
Away from dentistry Alan is a freemason. He also regularly goes to the gym to keep fit and enjoys a swim.
Lindy Short (Practice Manager)
Lindy is our Practice Manager and has been with the practice for over thirty years. In most instances Lindy will be your first point of contact with the practice. She is very experienced and trained to deal with enquiries of a general nature and has a wealth of experience of customer care and management. She has recently been awarded with an NVQ level 4 leadership and management. Outside of work Lindy enjoys fell walking and regularly goes to the gym to keep fit.
Louise Chase BDS (University of Manchester)

Louise is a part time member of the practice and has now been part of the team for over 20 years. She regularly attends dental courses to keep up to date with the latest techniques and to continuously develop her knowledge and interest in dentistry. Louise often takes part in fundraising events to help local charities and volunteers within the local community. She particularly enjoys walking in the Lakes with her husband and two boys and the newest addition to her family her Labrador, Sasha.
Michael Cheung BDS (University of Liverpool)
GDC registration number: 78829
Michael qualified from Liverpool University in 2000. He is very enthusiastic about the dental health of his patients and particularly enjoys replacing old silver fillings with tooth-coloured restorations. He regularly attends post-graduate training including the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD) training course in sedation in 2011 and an advanced endodontic (root canal course) in 2012. He is currently taking a multi-system implant course and hopes this will enable him to place and restore dental implants for his patients in the near future.
Away from Dentistry, Michael still plays indoor football and also enjoys walking and cycling (weather permitting!)
